A tragic Houston shooting incident resulted in the death of one man during an attempted robbery at a Whataburger drive-thru, FOX 26 reported.

Houston Shooting Incident

The Houston shooting incident took place on Thursday at approximately 5:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of Chimney Rock Road, prompting a response from local law enforcement.

According to authorities, a man was inside his car, waiting in line at the Whataburger drive-thru, when two individuals pulled up behind him. One of the suspects exited their vehicle and approached the man’s car, attempting to rob him. Fearing for his safety, the man quickly got out of his car and fled the scene on foot, leaving his vehicle behind.

Both suspects fled the area after the first perpetrator returned to their car. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots as the suspects made their escape, but at the time, no one was aware that someone had been shot.

The Houston police launched an investigation into the Houston shooting, and during their search, they located the car that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle in the 5800 block of Val Verde Street. Inside the car, they found one of the men with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Ben Taub General Hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Houston Shooting Suspects

Meanwhile, the second suspect in the Houston shooting was detained at the scene by law enforcement officials.
