Get ready to multiply your food stamp dollars this summer at the Shelburne Farmers Market with Crop Cash!
What Is Crop Cash?
Crop Cash is Northeast Organic Farming Association‘s incentive program that allows individuals and families to stretch their benefits and spend more on local food, Shelburne News reported.
You’ll receive extra money to spend on fresh, local produce when you use your food stamp benefits at a participating farmers market. The market will match $20 or more of benefits daily, giving you even more purchasing power.
The best part is that if you receive food stamp benefits, you are automatically eligible for Crop Cash at the farmer’s market. There’s no need to fill out an additional application; simply use your benefits at the market, and the Crop Cash will be added to your spending.
With Crop Cash, you can buy a variety of healthy foods, including fruits, vegetables, seeds, and vegetable starts. But that’s not all! If you’re looking for even more options, Crop Cash Plus allows you to buy other eligible items like dairy, eggs, meat, and cold-prepared foods such as bread.
