Reports say the government’s evidence focused on the third robbery committed by Caleb Rogers, 35, when he was arrested outside the Rio All-Suite Hotel in February 2022. Rogers allegedly stormed a casino’s sportsbook and threatened to use a gun while he dumped $79,000 into a bag concealed under his jacket.Fortunately, an article in US News states that a group of security officers were able to tackle Rogers. Thereafter, Rogers identified himself as a Las Vegas police officer while being hauled into the back of a patrol car.
Charges Faced by Las Vegas Police Officer
According to Yamat, on July 14, a federal jury found the Las Vegas police officer guilty on all counts of stealing around $165,000 during three casino heists. Further reports say the Las Vegas police officer could be sentenced to life imprisonment for wielding a gun during the third casino robbery. U.S. District Judge Andrew Gordon then scheduled the sentencing of the Las Vegas police officer in the month of October.
