Former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, a convicted sex offender suffered critical injured on Sunday after he was stabbed multiple times during an attack in a federal prison in Florida.

The prison attack on the former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar 59 years old was reported that he survived from prison attack after being stabbed 10 times after he reportedly observed and comment on something that was allegedly made while watching the women’s Wimbledon tennis match.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed that the former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar an inmate at the US Penitentiary Coleman in Florida was stabbed 10 times on Sunday afternoon, but refused to identify the prisoner for privacy and security concerns.

Bureau spokesperson Benjamin O’Cone said in a statement that a staff response to the incident had immediately performed life-saving measures.

The emergency personnel of the facility transported the former gymnastics doctor to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

The FBI was also informed of the attack that occurred in prison, and an internal investigation is ongoing, O’Cone added. Moreover, no other staff or inmates were injured, he said.

Doctor Larry Nassar Serves In Prisons For Decades After Being Found Guilty

The People reported that the former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar that more than 50 women and girls accused Nassar of sexual abuse them repeatedly under the guise of medical treatment including gymnasts Aly Raisman, Simone Biles, McKayla Maroney, and Gabby Douglas Nassar pleaded guilty to several counts of sexual assault in 2018.

He was sentenced to more than 100 years in state prison in the highly publicized sex abuse case. Nassar is also behind bars for two other cases, one stemming from a conviction for sexually abusing his victims during his time at Michigan State University and another linked to a federal child pornography conviction.

The sex abuse allegations first surfaced in 2015, igniting a years-long scandal in which victims accused officials in power of ignoring their reports and covering up the assaults.

Assistant District Attorney Angela Povilaitis described the former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar as the most prolific child molester in American history.

Former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar is currently serving a 60-year sentence for federal child pornography charges.
