2-year-old Wynter Cole-Smith from Lansing, Michigan was reported missing last July 2. Three days later, the body of the missing toddler was found dead in Detroit.
On July 2, the unnamed mother of Wynter Cole-Smith was physically assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Rashad Maleek Trice, 26, in her apartment. Thereafter, the woman fled the apartment to call and get help from the authorities. However, when the officers arrived at the apartment at around 11:30 p.m., Wynter, 2, was found missing.According to Madani, the missing toddler’s mother sustained several stab wounds but has fortunately been released from the hospital since. In addition, the missing toddler’s brother, who was also in the apartment during the incident, was unharmed.
On the contrary, Trice was accused of stealing a white 2013 Chevrolet Impala which he crashed 90 miles away from the apartment. However, following the crash, Trice was taken into custody and transported to a hospital where he was being guarded.

Missing Toddler Found Dead
Unfortunately, an article in AP News states that on July 5, at around 6:50 p.m., the body of the missing toddler was found dead by a federal search team near the Coleman A. Young International Airport in Detroit.
The suspect in the disappearance of the missing toddler was then charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual assault, first-degree home invasion, aggravated domestic violence second offense, assault with intent to murder, felonious assault, unlawful driving away of an automobile, and unlawful imprisonment. To date, the suspect is is being heled with no bond after an arraignment on July 5.
