A Guaranteed Income pilot program named “Breathe” was launched in the county of Los Angeles in California. The Guaranteed Income pilot program intends to provide $1,000 to selected recipients every month for two years. Furthermore, the Guaranteed Income pilot program will select an additional 200 eligible recipients from applicants who have been in foster care as a child.According to Knox, the application for the expansion of the Guaranteed Income pilot program began on June 20 and subsequently ended on July 3. Thereafter, the payments under the Guaranteed Income pilot program will be distributed beginning on July 15.

Eligibility Requirements for Guaranteed Income Pilot Program
An article in MARCA states that to be eligible for the Guaranteed Income pilot program, an applicant must be at least 21 years old and must not be aged 24 before September 1 this year. Furthermore, the applicant must have been in the care of the county’s Department of Children and Family Services on or after turning the age of 18.
Other requirements to be eligible for the Guaranteed Income pilot program include earning at or below 100% of the area median income for a household of one. For a household with two or more members, the income must be 120% of the area median income. Lastly, the applicant must have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and must have not been a recipient of another Guaranteed Income pilot program.
