The dean of Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Thomas LaVeist argued on Thursday that white people have an unfair advantage in getting their Social Security. He was interviewed at Washington’s Post Live’s “Health Equity” event by Akilah Johnson, a Post reporter.

According to the dean, the advantage of Social Security for white people shows the structural inequity that is evident in America. Even if the dean did not say that Social Security is a racist department but he said that it affects and is impacted by structural inequity.

He then suggested that if all the factors are the same until the next years, Social Security for white people will probably dominate over black people. One reason is white people tend to live longer than Black people.

The life expectancy of white people makes the difference in how much they get rather than black people because white people tend to live longer than black.
