California Deputy Arrested for Several Sexual Misconduct Allegations In 2022

Jon Persinger was arrested for being accused of several acts of sexual misconduct in 2022. Despite working with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office for four years, the California deputy officer was immediately terminated.

Following a joint investigation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney of Placer County on January 12, Jon Persinger, 44, was accused of several sexual misconduct incidents between September and November 2022.

According to Wehner, the California deputy officer was placed only on administrative leave during the investigation. However, after his arrest on June 28, Persinger was immediately terminated despite working with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office for four years.

California Deputy Officer Arrested

According to Ramos, the Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of the California deputy officer on their Facebook page in the evening of June 28. Reportedly, he was arrested by the department’s detectives after being accused of illegally accessing law enforcement telecommunications data and soliciting prostitution while on and off duty.

Sheriff Wayne Woo of Placer County states that under Senate Bill 2, the allegations were already reported to the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. Woo added that the department has no tolerance for misconduct of any law enforcement whether on or off duty.
