Father With Active Restraining Order Allegedly Stabbed Woman In Front Of Their Children
A California mother of three was stabbed to death in front of her children by her ex-boyfriend, for whom she had filed a restraining order and who has a history of domestic violence, according to police in the Golden State.
32 years old Rodrigo Bravo is the suspect who turned himself in at the Salinas Police Department, where he was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of 30-year-old Eleni Tavau, according to the Salinas Police Department’s Facebook post. Additionally, Bravo was also facing charges of felony child endangerment, violation of probation, and violation of a domestic violence restraining order.
The Incident Of The Crime
On June 25, around 3 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a home on Natividad Road, according to People news release. On Sunday, police found 30-year-old Eleni Tavau with multiple stab wounds and said she was unresponsive but still alive in her home. Moreover, Tavau’s two toddler-aged children were present when the officers arrived at the scene.
Tavau was treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital in grave condition, where she later died of her injuries.
An investigation reportedly discovered that Tavau had a restraining order against Bravo, who was taken into custody later that day after allegedly confessing to killing her.
Bravo is also the father of Tavau’s children, according to a GoFundMe campaign set up by her family members.
Bravo is being held on $1 million bail, KRON 4 reports. It is still unknown if Bravo has entered a plea or retained a lawyer to comment on his behalf.
