American Actor Kevin Spacey Appears in London Court for Sexual Offense Trial

American actor Kevin Spacey appeared in a court in London for a trial on several sexual offense charges. Nonetheless, Spacey denied the allegations of four men who accused him of the crimes between 2001 and 2013.

American actor Kevin Spacey, 63, was known for winning an Oscars award for best actor in “American Beauty” (1999). In addition, Spacey spent the years 2004 to 2015 working in London as an artistic director for the British capital’s Old Vic theatre.

However, an article in U.S. News & World Report states that in May 2022, Kevin Spacey was accused of five counts of assault that allegedly happened between March 2005 and April 2013. Reports say four of the victims were from London and one was from Gloucestershire in the west of England.

Kevin Spacey Stands Trial

According to Sinmaz, on June 28, Kevin Spacey appeared in the Court 1 of Southwark Crown Court in London for the start of his four-week trial on several sex offense charges. The charges include several incidents of indecent and sexual assaults and causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.

Reports say the latter charge is a more serious offense which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The trial against Kevin Spacey was adjourned until the morning of June 30 when the prosecution will officially open its case against the actor.
