Devondre Trevon Phillips was sentenced to almost 29 years in prison in connection with the mass shooting in Minnesota. Reports say the suspect was in a dispute with Terry Lorenzo Brown whose girlfriend was Phillips’ cousin.
On October 10, 2021, Devondre Trevon Phillips, then 29, and Terry Lorenzo Brown, then 33, were allegedly in a dispute over domestic abuse accusations. Reports say the woman Brown was dating was a cousin of Phillips. Thereafter, both men exchanged gunfire inside the Seventh Street Truck Park Bar, hitting each other and several bystanders during the mass shooting.An article in Fox News states that the mass shooting left one individual killed and fourteen others injured. The deceased victim was later identified as Marquisha “Kiki” Wiley, 27, a veterinary technician from the city of St. Paul.

Charges Faced by Mass Shooting Suspects
According to Leone, in February, Phillips was convicted of firing the first shots during the mass shooting. Consequently, he faced charges of eight counts of attempted second-degree murder. On June 23, the mass shooting suspect was sentenced to almost 29 years in prison.
On the other hand, a different jury convicted Brown of second-degree murder, one count of illegal possession of a firearm, and four counts of attempted second-degree murder. Reportedly, the other mass shooting suspect is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
