Hours after the submersible went missing with five people, the Navy confirmed that the incident’s fate is no longer a mystery as an underwater implosion was announced by officials.
Navy Detected Underwater Implosion Of Submersible
In a news conference, Coast Guard Rear Adm. John Mauger said that their teams had discovered pieces of the missing submersible that is believed to be undergoing a catastrophic implosion.
On Sunday, shortly after the Titan had lost contact with the surface, a U.S. Navy official said they detected an acoustic anomaly consistent with an implosion, CBS News reported. Despite the condition, search and rescue teams did not give up and used the information to search the area and narrow it.
According to the Chairman of the professional group the Marine Technology Society Submarine Committee that an underwater implosion comes in a fraction of a second. He said that the implosion likely happened early into the submersible’s journey.
He also said that what happened was probably a mercy for the five people than being in the unbelievably difficult situation of being four days in a confined space, a dark, and cold place struggling for their life.

Mystery Of Underwater Implosion Of Submersible
The Chairman said that they are puzzled as to how the tracking and communication were lost so soon. For Kohnen, a puzzling aspect of the situation was how communication and tracking were lost so soon. He is also curious that all systems for sonar, range finding, text, and voice have stopped at the same time.
The Titanic’s remains are at around 12,500 feet down, and the pressure at that depth is around 400 times the pressure you would feel at sea level. This pressure is far beyond what the human body could resist for even a moment.
As the investigation continues, the Coast Guard is now leading the investigation with the assistance of the National Transportation Safety Board.
