As the people in Asheville, N.C., celebrated the Juneteenth festival when a bloody incident happened on the first day of the event that wounded two kids after an active 16 years old shooter starts shooting, it was ordered to stop the festival on the second day.

The Juneteenth festival in a popular North Carolina tourist city was almost perfect when gunshots rang out just before 9 p.m. Saturday and two juveniles were wounded in a shooting, according to the organizers of the event and police leaders.

AP News reported that when the Asheville police arrived at the Court Plaza area of Pack Square Park they found two juveniles with gunshot wounds and both were taken to Mission Hospital with serious injuries. Moreover, one of the victims was released, while the other remains in critical but stable condition.

The Suspect Of The Shooting Was Only A Teen Aged 16

According to the police, the person responsible for the shooting was just a 16-year-old and was identified as “the principal offender.” Moreover, he was taken into custody and the suspect’s identity was not immediately released. A second suspect was also arrested during the incident but it was later released, police said.
Asheville police officer Joe Silberman claimed that the shooting started after an argument between juveniles spiraled out of control and resulted in someone pulling a handgun.
The teen is now facing two counts of felonious assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious wounds. Police retrieved a 9mm pistol.
