The city of Denver celebrated its first NBA championship through a parade downtown. However, the Denver Nuggets parade was marred after two individuals were shot and a police officer was hit by a firetruck.
On June 15, the city of Denver celebrated its first NBA championship through a victory parade downtown. However, a police officer who was providing security for the basketball players during the Denver Nuggets parade was ran over by the firetruck they were riding.An article in CNN states that the officer was later identified as Sgt. Justin Dodge. Further reports say he had to be removed under the firetruck and receive surgery on his left leg. According to Dr. Stephen Wolf of Denver Health, Dodge had sustained a severe limb injury but is in stable condition now.
Unfortunately, almost an hour later into the Denver Nuggets parade, two individuals were shot and sustained severe gunshot injuries. The officials of Denver stated that the shooting victims are still in critical condition.

Suspects of the Denver Nuggets Parade Shooting
According to Hill, Chief of Police Ron Thomas stated that due to initial evidence, the shooting during the Denver Nuggets parade appeared to be a targeted attack unrelated to the celebration. Nonetheless, the three individuals involved to the incident were allegedly acquainted.
To date, the authorities already possess surveillance camera images of the suspect who has not been identified and arrested yet. Reportedly, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives of Denver is assisting with the investigation.
