Thursday, Ibraheem Izzy Musaibli from Detroit was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being arrested on a Syrian battlefield in 2018 fighting for Islamic State.
Ibraheem Izzy Musaibli Gets 14 Years In Prison
Ibraheem Izzy Musaibli 32 years old was first convicted in January for betraying the US and his fellow citizens by supporting a designated terrorist organization. Moreover, U.S. Attorney Dawn Ison said that Musaibli deserved a long sentence in prison for his action.
ABC News reported that as stated in trial evidence that in 2015 Ibraheem Izzy Musaibli traveled to Yemen to continue his study into Islamic State, including downloading propaganda from the terrorist organization and a book on how to get into Syria.

Ibraheem Izzy Musaibli Is One Of The ISIS Military
Assistant U.S. Attorney Hank Moon stated in a court filing that Musaibli had been one of the ISIS military fighting battalions, and spent at least nine months fighting on the front lines.
Musaibli’s sentence is far short of the 35-year term requested by prosecutors. Defense attorneys sought a 10-year prison term. Musaibli will earn praise for five years spent in custody since being indicted.
Musaibli’s attorneys stated that he was a troubled man who saw himself as a failure and who was “manipulated by propaganda” and turned out to be an insufficient Islamic State supporter.
