An unnamed shooting suspect was arrested after gunning a West Virginia state trooper to death. Reports say apart from the killed victim, another individual was also injured following the incident.
On June 9, Sgt. Cory Maynard, 37, was killed following a shooting incident in the line of his duty in Mingo County, West Virginia. Unfortunately, apart from the state trooper, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives in Louisville, Kentucky announced that another individual was also injured.According to Alonso, the shooting incident prompted a manhunt conducted by the Louisville ATF office and supported by the West Virginia ATF agents. Eventually, an unnamed shooting suspect had been arrested. However, further details as to what caused the incident, where it happened, the injured victim’s condition, and where the shooting suspect is being held are not yet revealed.

Respect for Maynard
An article in ABC News states that during the authorities’ search for the shooting suspect, the emergency management agency of Mingo County advised the public to stay indoors. Due to this, a graduation ceremony at Mingo Central High School on June 9 was postponed to pay respects for Maynard. In addition, Governor Jim Justice also ordered that the flags in facilities owned by the state must be flown at half-staff.
