Reports say Daniel Cleggett, 37, founded A Vision From God LLC which operated sober homes in Boston, Quincy, Wakefield, and Weymouth in Massachusetts. However, authorities claimed that Cleggett and the manager of the sober homes conspired to overcharge a family trust in New York. They allegedly submitted fraudulent invoices and increased the fees by up to $12,500 every month.

Furthermore, an article in Fox News states that from October 2019 to December 2021, the sober homes operator and manager also submitted false documents upon buying three properties. They allegedly claimed that the properties were to be used as primary residences when in fact they were intended to be sober homes.

In addition, the sober homes operator was also accused of obtaining almost $800,000 in federal COVID-19 relief funds. In 2020, Cleggett allegedly fabricated his applications and spent some of the funds on vacations to Aruba and Montana, car rentals, a caviar dinner, and gym memberships.
