Ajike Owens Killed
Susan Louise Lorincz, 58 years old, was arrested in connection with Owens’ death and is facing charges of assault, battery, culpable negligence, and manslaughter with a firearm.
The tragic incident occurred after an ongoing dispute between Owens and Lorincz, which lasted for over two years. The dispute stemmed from Ajike Owens’ children playing in a field near Lorincz’s home.
On the day of the shooting, Lorincz allegedly threw a roller skate at Owens’ 10-year-old son and swung an umbrella at him and his older brother.
Ajike Owens approached Lorincz’s home, demanding that she come outside, and was shot through the door, with the bullet striking her upper chest. Tragically, Owens’ son was standing beside her when she was shot.
The arrest of Lorincz brought some relief to Owens’ family, according to their attorney, Ben Crump. It was important to convey to Owens’ children that the senseless act of violence that took their mother’s life was not their fault.
