Authorities in Barry County, Missouri, are in pursuit of an escaped inmate after seven prisoners escape from Missouri jail on Thursday night, triggering a manhunt, CBS News reported.

Reports from CBS affiliate KOLR-TV state that the jailbreak occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, with the inmates allegedly assaulting two correctional officers to facilitate their escape.
While three of the escapees were swiftly apprehended, two others, namely Derson Pelep and Rolondo Saldivar, were returned to custody shortly before 7 a.m. Additionally, Alex Agans was captured and returned to the jail at around 8 a.m.
However, one inmate, identified as Mario Che-Tiul by the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, remains at large. Che-Tiul, a 34-year-old who was booked into jail last December on felony charges of molestation and incest, is currently the subject of an intensive search.

Escape From Missouri Jail
The sheriff’s office has issued a warning on Facebook, describing Che-Tiul as “ARMED AND DANGEROUS.” They advise anyone who spots him to contact the authorities immediately and avoid any direct contact.
As a precautionary measure, residents in the area are urged to secure their homes and vehicles until Che-Tiul is captured.
To aid in the search, the Missouri Highway Patrol has deployed a helicopter, and the U.S. Marshall Service is also providing assistance, intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend the escaped inmate.
The escape from Missouri jail has prompted a coordinated response from law enforcement agencies, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
Authorities are dedicated to ensuring public safety and bringing Che-Tiul back into custody to face the charges against him.
