Florida Couple Faces Manslaughter Charges In Connection With 3-Year-Old’s Death

A Florida couple was charged with aggravated manslaughter after a 3-year-old child died of severe injuries, according to police authorities.

Florida Couple’s Negligence

According to WTSP, deputies say that the Florida couple noticed on May 12 at noon that the child was cold, his stomach was bloated and his pulse oximeter is not functioning well but did not immediately call for help.

Police said that they waited until 3 pm to call 911 for the emergency.

When the Florida couple called 911, the Bartow Fire Rescue and law enforcement responded. They reportedly found the 3-year-old lifeless and do not have a pulse. The child was then rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Blaze News reported.

The emergency room doctor said the 3-year-old unidentified baby had not received enough and proper care for months.

The medical examiner said the 3-year-old had sepsis, bilateral pneumonia, and Stage 5 ulcers.

Florida Couple Faces Manslaughter Charges

The Florida couple, Takesha Williams, 24 years old, and Efrem Allen, Jr., 25 years old, have been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a 3-year-old child.

The Florida couple are being held at the Polk County Jail with $100,000 bond each.
