A shooting incident in a suburb south of Chicago left a woman injured and a 9-year-old boy killed. Reports say the Chicago shooting happened during an altercation outside the house of the deceased victim.
On May 25, at around 6 p.m., officers responded to a report about a shooting incident in Matteson, a suburb located south of Chicago, Illinois. Reportedly, the caller who reported to the 911 dispatchers was the grandmother of one of the victims during the Chicago shooting.According to an article in Fox News, upon arriving at the scene of the Chicago shooting, the authorities discovered a 20-year-old woman who was wounded. In addition, a 9-year-old boy also sustained a life-threatening gunshot injury to his abdomen. The boy was immediately transported to a hospital but unfortunately died thereafter. The medical examiner’s office of Cook County then identified the deceased as Omuiri Jones Brown.

Suspect of the Chicago Shooting
An article in Yahoo News states that on May 26, authorities announced that the Chicago shooting happened during an altercation outside Jones Brown’s house. According to Denise Jones, the boy’s grandmother, her other grandchild had a fight with another girl at school. The girl and some of her friends then drove and went to Jones Brown’s house.
It was when the teenagers fought outside that a boy, who was with the group of girls, allegedly started firing gunshots. To date, the authorities did not release further information about the Chicago shooting.
