Northern Kentucky and Butler County officials confirmed that the suspect who killed a deputy during a traffic stop on Monday is also facing charges with other counties, Cincinnati.com reported.

A deputy shooting incident happened last May 22 at around 5 p.m. at a traffic stop on Interstate 75. The victim Deputy Caleb Conley was killed because of the shooting. He was from Scott County.

According to Major Matt LeMonds, the suspect Steven Sheangshang was arrested and faced several charges in both Scott and Fayette counties.

Trustee Lee Wong said that the deputy pulled over the suspect Sheangshang because West Chester police tracked him down with a series of garage and car robberies in the Beckett Ridge area.

The department has tracked him down using the township’s Flock camera license plate readers and investigated the suspect, police Chief Joel Herzog told the trustees. He also confirmed that the suspect was connected to incidents in western Hamilton County.

Deputy Shooting Suspect Faces Charges

The deputy shooting suspect is also facing charges in Northern Kentucky for a separate crime committed in Fort Mitchell. According to court documents Sheangshang was recognized on a May 17 security video stealing a portable generator in Fortside Drive.

According to reports, after Sheangshang’s photograph was released, officials realized that he was also the man that match the video of the burglar in Fort Mitchell.

According to authorities, Sheangshang is scheduled for arraignment in Kenton Cuunty on burglary charges on June 30.
