The Oklahoma Department of Corrections has shut down all prisons statewide including all visitations are all canceled due to a stabbing incident that happened in a medium-security prison in northeastern Oklahoma.
Locked Down To All Oklahoma Prisons Ordered By The Oklahoma Department of Corrections
Kay Thompson a spokesperson from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections claimed that all state prisons were locked because of the inmate-on-inmate stabbing incident and the department will continue to work everything out and the lockdown will last at least until Monday.
Thompson said that she is not allowed to release any further information about the stabbing incident inside the prison because it is still an ongoing investigation into the incident at the Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) northwest of Tulsa.
According to the Department of Corrections, website noted that the Dick Conner Correctional Center also has the lowest security prison on its grounds and houses about 1,200 inmates.

Previous Locked Down Occurred In The Past
AP News reported that six of the department’s 21 prisons including the Dick Conner Correctional Center all prisons statewide were locked down in September 2021. According to authorities, the locked doe was a gang-related attack that injured several inmates but none of the injuries were life-threatening.
The prisons where the attacks occurred were the Jim Hamilton Correctional Center in Hodgen, John H. Lilley Correctional Center near Boley, Lexington Assessment, Mack Alford Correctional Center in Atoka, and Reception Center, Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy and Davis Correctional Facility in Holdenville.
