Identity of the Mexico Kidnapping Suspects
According to an article in ABC News, the federal prosecutors reportedly did not reveal the Mexico kidnapping suspects’ complete names. However, the first names and the descriptions match the two men that were listed as arrested on the federal database. The names Alan Alexis Cárdenas and Axel Alfredo Cárdenas are believed to be related to Osiel Cárdenas Guillen, the Gulf cartel leader who was captured in 2003.
Eventually, the prosecutors confirmed that the Mexico kidnapping suspects were sons of José Alfredo Cárdenas Martínez, Osiel’s nephew, who was arrested in 2022. Reports say both Alan Alexis and Axel Alfredo assumed the roles of leadership in the cartel after José Alfredo was arrested.
