Up to $800 monthly direct payments will be available to Americans in 5 days. The U.S. Sun reported that in Palm Springs, California, a universal basic income pilot will be on its way.
Up To $800 Monthly Direct Payment
In Palm Springs, California, nonprofit organization DAP Health and Queer Works will be launching its first round of monthly direct payment.
This guaranteed income program will give Palm Springs residents $800 monthly installment for up to a year and a half. The program was made possible because of the $500,000 funding from the city.
30 residents were selected to be the beneficiary of this program. They were selected randomly last March 30 from an application process. DAP Health and Queer Works are no longer accepting applications as it ended last March 25 this year.
This monthly direct payment is set to arrive on May 15, and recipients can start to get payments of up to $800.

Who Is Eligible For The $800 Monthly Direct Payment?
To be eligible for the monthly direct payment, residents’ income must be no more than 30% of the median of Riverside County. It means one person must not exceed $16,600 annually.
Other qualifications include; you must be a resident of Palm Springs, California, you must live and work in Palm Springs at least part-time, you must also be clients of Queer Works or DAP Health or you have enrolled with any of them by March 14, lastly, you must agree to be part of a study that requires surveys and data collection.
