An unidentified suspect was arrested for the shooting incident at a Mississippi restaurant in Ocean Springs. Reports say one individual had been killed and six others were injured.
On May 5, at around 11 p.m., the Ocean Springs Police Department responded to a report about a shooting incident at the Scratch Kitchen & Bar, a Mississippi restaurant. Reportedly, Ocean Springs is a city in the southern Mississippi, around 90 miles away from New Orleans.An article in CNN states that for the celebrations of Cinco de Mayo, there were large crowds in the city’s downtown that day. This means that the Mississippi restaurant is along the bustling strips of businesses in the city at that time.
On May 6, Kenny Holloway, the city’s mayor, described the shooting at the Mississippi restaurant as intentional to disrupt the community of Ocean Springs. Authorities have identified the deceased victim as Chase Harmon, 19, from Moss Point, Mississippi. The six injured victims, on the other hand, were transported to hospitals around the area for medical treatment.

Mississippi Restaurant Shooting Suspect Arrested
According to Deliso, on May 6, the officials of the City of Ocean Springs also announced that the unidentified suspect is already in custody. However, Police Chief Mark Dunston stated that the suspect’s identity will remain not revealed while investigations are still going underway. Holloway added that officials of the city will use all of the resources to keep the streets safe for the residents of Ocean Springs.
