Ladarrius Evans was arrested for shooting Paul Holt to death during an alleged carjacking in Louisiana. Reports say the Arkansas tourist was getting ready to celebrate his birthday with his wife when Evans approached.
On May 6, at around 8 a.m., deputies from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that an individual was shot at the Red Roof Plus on Puma Drive in Hammond, Louisiana. Upon arriving at the crime scene, the deputies discovered Paul Holt, 62, of Arkansas, suffering from a gunshot injury to his chest.According to Wehner, the Arkansas tourist and his wife were getting into their SUV when an armed man wearing a mask approached them. The armed man reportedly got into the vehicle and attempted to drive away while Holt’s wife was already in the passenger’s seat. Holt attempted to stop the armed man and successfully helped his wife escape the vehicle.
Unfortunately, while doing so, the armed man shot Holt before driving away from the scene with the SUV. Reports say the Arkansas tourist was immediately transported to North Oaks Hospital, but he eventually died from his injuries. Later that day, the investigators, fortunately, located Holt’s vehicle and were able to determine the armed man.

Charges Faced for Death of Arkansas Tourist
An article in Fox 8 states that the armed man was eventually identified as Ladarrius Evans, 18. Thereafter, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Evans in connection to the death of the Arkansas tourist and the alleged carjacking of his vehicle.
Reports say Evans was also found to be in possession of the items that belonged to the Arkansas tourist like clothing. Furthermore, the items used to shoot Holt and steal his vehicle were also found. Evans faced charges of possession of unidentifiable firearms, possession of a machine gun, carjacking, armed robbery with a firearm, and first-degree murder. In addition, he was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.
