Selected residents of Palm Springs will be going to receive $800 from a guaranteed income program. Selected residents will receive $800 monthly, Washington Examiner reported.

Guaranteed Income Program

The guaranteed income program is being run by Queer Works and DAP Health which are both nonprofit organizations. The Queer Works and DAP Health selected 30 recipients earlier this year last March, good thing is recipients of this program is free to spend monthly payment in any way they see fit, according to Queer Works.

The program will begin sending its payments on May 15, it will be an 18-month-long pay schedule.

Recipients will be required to participate in a study conducted by Queer Works. It involves surveys that will be taken every month. The final report is expected to be released in the winter next year, 2024. While data from this program will be available every six months.

Guaranteed Income Program Eligibility

Applicants of this guaranteed income program needed to be clients of either DAP Health or Queer Works and considered to be residents of Palm Springs, California. In addition, applicants needed to have an income no more than 30% median income of Riverside County.

Qualified residents were already notified whether they qualified or not. Applications were opened on March 15 and were closed on March 25.

This program is just one of many guaranteed income programs in California, so be sure to check out other programs and apply. El Monte city also has a program that paid 125 recipients up to $500 every month and will begin on June 1, while in Sonoma County recipients will receive $500 every month and are expected to begin on May 17.
