Police announced on Saturday afternoon that at least 8 people were killed and 7 were wounded during a Mall shooting in Allen, Texas, CBS News reported.

The shooting happened at Allen Premium Outlets, a mall in Allen, Texas when a gunman opened fire on people. Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd confirmed to the reporters that six victims were pronounced dead at the scene while another 9 were rushed to local hospitals but later on, 2 of those died.

No names were released yet and three of the victims that is brought to hospitals undergo critical surgery while the other four were in stable condition.

The victims were rushed to the hospital where its trauma facilities had received eight shooting victims ranging from 5 to 61 years old.

The suspect died on the scene when a police officer responded to the scene and neutralized the suspect. When the officer heard the gunshots, he located the shooter and then neutralized it, according to the press release.

Authorities have not yet disclosed any information about the shooter but they believe that the shooter has acted alone.

A video was posted online that captured the sound of gunfire and panic among people inside the mall. Allen police asked anyone with a video recording of the shooting to contact the FBI for further investigation into the shooting.

A White House official confirmed that President Biden had been aware of the situation of the shooting and was monitoring.

Governor Greg. Abbott also offered full support to the local officials of the state of Texas to ensure all needed assistance to all working officers.

The Mall shooting in Allen, Texas is a reminder that gun violence is still prevalent and needs to be addressed by officials.
