Pennsylvania Teacher Shot In Front Of 11-Year-Old Son After Murder-For-Hire Plot

Authorities said a Pennsylvania teacher who was murdered in a Dunkin’ Donuts drive-thru line last month in front of her 11-year-old son was the target of a months-long murder-for-hire plan.

A statement from Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office dated April 26 (per People) mentioned that authorities arrested Zakkee Alhakim, 33, and Julie Jean, 34, following the death of 35-year-old Rachel King.

First-degree murder, third-degree murder, conspiracy, and other felonies are among the charges brought against both in relation to the death of the Pennsylvania teacher.

The Pennsylvania teacher was fatally shot by a fleeing gunman, allegedly Alhakim, as her 11-year-old son sat in the backseat of her car at the Melrose Shopping Center in Cheltenham, a Philadelphia suburb, on April 11, around 7:30 a.m.

Pennsylvania Teacher Killed Following Murder-for-Hire Plot

After King’s longtime boyfriend, William Hayes, allegedly ended their relationship last year, investigators now believe Jean and Alhakim plotted to kill the Pennsylvania teacher months before the murder with their help.

Authorities claimed that Jean proceeded to “text, call, and harass” the Pennsylvania teacher after Hayes ended their relationship, which led Hayes to ask Jean for a protection from abuse order.

King’s family is seeking justice, CBS News wrote. According to the Pennsylvania teacher’s father, Rev. Allen King, “we want it done accurately and we want it done fairly.”

While Jean is being detained at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, Alhakim is being held at the Philadelphia-area Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility. Bail was declined for both.

It’s unknown if the two suspects have entered pleas or appointed lawyers to represent them.
