American Fugitive Fakes Own Death To Avoid Rape Charges, Claims He Is Irish Orphan

Nicholas Alahverdian allegedly faked his own death to avoid the charges of rape filed against him. The American fugitive claimed that he is instead an Irish orphan named Arthur Knight.

On April 21, Dateline broadcasted an exclusive interview in NBC with Nicholas Alahverdian, 35, an American fugitive who faced charges of rape in connection a 2008 incident in Utah. Alahverdian was more commonly known as Nicholas Rossi and spent over a year avoiding extradition to the U.S. from Scotland. This is because in December 2021, the American fugitive was arrested at a hospital in Glasgow while being treated for COVID-19.

According to Heinrichs, the authorities have identified Alahverdian through his fingerprints and tattoos. However, the American fugitive has fiercely denied his identity. Instead, Alahverdian claims that he is an Irish orphan named Arthur Knight and has never been to the U.S.

Other Charges Against the American Fugitive

According to Martinez, other than his pending rape charges in Utah, the FBI stated that Alahverdian also faced fraud charges and was convicted of sex-related charges in Ohio in 2008. The American fugitive was reportedly born in Rhode Island where he became a blunt critic of the state’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families. In the state, Alahverdian was also wanted for not registering as a sex offender.

In 2020, the American fugitive told the local media that he only had weeks to live due to his late-stage non-Hodgkin lymphoma. On February 29, 2020, an obituary online claimed that Alahverdian had died. In 2022, the Rhode Island State Police and his former lawyer and former foster family were open about their doubts that Alahverdian had actually died.
