In an announcement, the office of Georgia Governor Brian Kemp declared that taxpayers of the state will be receiving an additional amount of payments again this year. This will be made possible after the legislature established a new batch of 2023 Tax Refunds worth $250 to $500. Furthermore, Kemp had already put the bill into law after signing his signature.

According to Blake, Kemp’s office announced that the new batch of 2023 Tax Refunds will be arriving in about 6 to 8 weeks. By July 1, most of the payments are expected to be issued already. Kemp stated that in 2022, the state of Georgia has returned more than a billion dollars to the residents.

Who is eligible for the 2023 Tax Refunds?

According to Raymond, to be eligible for the 2023 Tax Refunds, an individual must have paid their taxes for the 2021 and 2022 state income taxes. They must have also lived and worked in the state of Georgia for the last two years. Young individuals who are claimed as dependents are still not eligible unless they have earned an income for the 2021 tax year.

Single tax filers can expect to receive $250, while those with dependents can receive $375. Married couples who filed jointly, on the other hand, can expect to receive $500. Unfortunately, the deadline to file the 2022 income taxes has already ended last April 18.
