Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently reiterated her demand for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas impeachment. Ocasio-Cortez believes it is warranted after Thomas did not disclose the luxury travels sponsored by a Republican benefactor.

According to Millman, Ocasio-Cortez demanded an inquiry into Thomas’ revelations in a CNN interview with Dana Bash on “State of the Union”. The Democratic Representative states that it is the House’s responsibility to push for an investigation through Clarence Thomas impeachment.

Clarence Thomas Impeachment
According to Singh, Ocasio-Cortez initially demanded for Clarence Thomas impeachment on Twitter last April 6. This was after she revealed a ProPublica report that recounted Thomas’ luxury travels in yachts and private jets sponsored by Republican benefactor Harlan Crow.
However, Thomas reasoned that he did not disclose the luxury travels because his colleagues in the judiciary advised that he did not have to report it at that time. Thomas added that the travels he took with his wife, conservative activist Ginni Thomas, was a personal hospitality from close friends like the Crows.
However, Ocasio-Cortez believes that the nondisclosure is a serious corruption and the colleagues Thomas mentioned who advised that he break the law must be identified. On April 7, twenty-four Democratic lawmakers sent a letter to Chief Justice John Roberts demanding for an investigation as to whether Thomas’ luxury travels violated any ethics rules and laws.
