The second batch of the retirement benefits to be issued by the Social Security Administration (SSA) are worth up to $4,555. Nonetheless, the exact amount of money the beneficiaries will receive from the Social Security Checks in 2023 will depend on the age of their retirement.

According to Notheis, the maximum amount of up to $4,555 per month will be received by the beneficiaries who retired at the age of 70. For the beneficiaries who retired at the age of 67, they will receive a maximum amount of $3,627 only. Lastly, for those who retired at the age of 62, they will receive a maximum amount of $2,572 only.

Who will receive the Social Security Checks in 2023?

According to Severi, the first batch of the Social Security Checks in 2023 for this month was issued on March 8. These checks were received by the beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th of the month. The second out of the three batches is expected to be issued today, March 15 and these payments will be received by the beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of the month. Lastly, the final batch will be issued on March 22 and these payments will be received by the beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of the month. 

Unfortunately, the SSA monthly payments are subject to change and may be reduced if the Congress will not decide on how to further fund the program in the future. Discussions about the monthly payments have been going on in the Congress for years now. To date, two bipartisan senators introduced a proposal of raising the maximum retirement age to 70.
