Local News in Colorado: A Man Was Sentenced Guilty After The Shooting Incident Two Years Ago

Following a fatal shooting in February 2021, a 20-year-old guy was found guilty on many counts. When Pamela Cabriales, 32, was shot and killed on February 20, 2021, Neshan Johnson was just 18 years old.

After just one day of deliberation, the jury found Johnson guilty of two counts of second-degree murder, one count of attempted manslaughter, one count of attempted assault, one act of vehicular evading, and one count of being an accomplice to a crime.

Denver DA Beth McCann stated in a news release that Pamela Cabriales’ murder was both a crime and a tragedy. Two suspects were detained during the closure of I-25, and a shelter-in-place order was issued. She applaud the members of my office who worked so long and hard to pursue this case, and she commended the jury for their dedication and attention during this difficult trial. While the prosecution of the minor we have charged in her murder moves forward, we will continue to work for Ms. Cabriales’ justice.

According to an article published by KDVR-TV Denver on March 10, 2023, police were called to a gunshot along West Colfax Avenue and Interstate 25 on February 20, 2021, around 10:45 p.m. In a 2008 Land Rover SUV, they discovered a woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the head.

Base on the report, a witness informed law enforcement that they witnessed the suspect firing six shots into the Range Rover while standing close to the passenger side of the vehicle. The woman was taken to the hospital where she eventually passed away and was later identified as Cabriales. A dark-colored, four-door Honda was identified as the suspect car; it sped away after the incident.
