Newsbreak: Mother Charged with Capital Murder of Three Children in Texas, Following Eerily Similar Case Involving Twin Sister

The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office in Italy, Texas, arrested Shamaiya Deyonshanae Hall on charges of capital murder, as per a news release. The judge set a bail of $6 million for her, and it is unknown whether she has hired an attorney or entered a plea.

On Friday afternoon, the police were summoned to a home at the request of a Child Protective Services (CPS) worker, who had decided to remove the children. The reason for their removal is unclear, but they were staying with a relative at the time. Following the call, all five children were found with severe knife wounds. Hall, aged 25, allegedly killed three of her children, aged six, and five-year-old twins, a boy, and a girl. The other two children, aged four and 13 months, were also stabbed but survived with critical injuries.

As per an MSN report on March 7, 2023, this case is strikingly similar to Hall’s twin sister, Troyshaye Hall’s case, who was charged with murdering her daughter two years ago. Troyshaye allegedly stabbed seven-year-old Madison Petry more than thirty times at a Dallas home. A sixteen-year-old boy was also injured in the attack, but the motive remains unclear.

Court records reveal that Troyshaye was found incompetent to stand trial, and instead, a judge ordered her to an in-patient mental facility, as per a report by ABC 7 on March 5, 2023. More charges are expected to be brought against Shamaiya Deyonshanae Hall.
