The Universal Basic Income (UBI), also known as guaranteed income, provides regular payments to U.S. citizens whether they work or not. The amount of payments differ but it is directly debited to the recipients’ accounts. The objective of Universal Basic Income 2023 is to give any individual money to reduce poverty and avoid homelessness.

According to Povey, criticisms of Universal Basic Income 2023 include the extra spending the government needs to pay for the program and the belief that it could discourage working. However, researchers at Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology discovered that the program had little impact on employee behavior.
