The Transitional Employment Assistance (TEA) is a welfare program of Arkansas under the federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) grant. The TEA program intends to improve the employment to lessen the reliance of parents on government benefits. This means that TEA intends to give parents opportunities to attain and retain employment in order to boost their household income and assets. This way, there could be a chance for quality life for the children and parents themselves.

According to an article on the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services, the applications for the TEA program will be processed no later than a month once all the needed documentation has been submitted. A family who is eligible for TEA can receive financial assistance benefits for up to 24 months. Be reminded, however, that the monthly payments to be received depend on the size of the family. All eligible family members will be taken into account for the family size, except for an ineligible child due to the family limit provision.
