Local News in Oregon: A Man is charged with Attempted Murder, Assault and other Crime Counts for Assaulting his Girlfriend.

An Oregon man, namely Benjamin Obadiah Foster, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting his girlfriend. She was found bound and severely beaten last week and was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Foster was charged with five felonies, including assault and battery. He served less than 200 days in jail because of the 729 days he spent in jail awaiting trial (Wehner, 2023).

Foster is allegedly trying to kill a woman, torturing her, and confining her in a place where she was not likely to be found. Foster has now been charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, assault, and other counts.

Officers arrested Tina Marie Jones, 68, of Wolf Creek, for blocking prosecution when the search warrant for Foster was executed on Thursday, and she is now in the Josephine County Jail.

The Associated Press obtained a Las Vegas police report that stated the suspect’s girlfriend had been injured by being tied at the wrists and ankles, made to consume lye, choked until she passed out, and had broken ribs, two black eyes, and injuries from being choked.

The Oregon Department of Health and Human Services is now offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to Foster’s arrest. The department says Foster may attempt to change his appearance by shaving or dying his beard and hair. It asks the public to pay attention to his facial structure and eyes.
