Residents in Colorado will receive a one-time payment of $750-$1,500 by January 31. However, payments are still being distributed to those who requested a filing extension.
The state’s Department of Revenue stated that those who filed their taxes by October 17th can expect to receive their refund by January 31st, as stated in an article published by KKTV on July 26, 2022. Individuals will receive $750, and joint filers will receive $1,500.
The Sun stated in an article published on January 13, 2023, that approximately 3 million residents of Colorado who are over 18 and have lived in the state for the entirety of 2021 will receive cash as part of the Colorado Cash Back program, which was established by Governor Jared Polis in May 2022.
To qualify, individuals must have filed a state income tax return or applied for a property tax, rent, or heating credit refund.
Officials have issued a warning that those who relocated to the state in the past year are not eligible for the cash payments and that all payments will be sent through the mail to prevent fraud.
