Five people were found dead in a home in High Point, North Carolina, on Saturday morning in a murder-suicide. One of the deceased apparently killed the other four before taking their own life, according to police.
Based on a report by KTTC on January 8, 2023, the bodies of two adults and three minors were discovered by police, who had been called to the scene after receiving reports of two adults crying out for help. When officers arrived, they found a man and woman who told them they needed assistance. The police then entered the home, where they found the five deceased individuals.
Authorities did not release the identities or ages of those killed. This tragedy follows a similar incident in Enoch City, Utah, just two days prior, in which a man killed seven of his family members, including his five children, wife, and mother-in-law, before taking his own life, according to KTTC.
These incidents highlight the need for increased awareness and resources for mental health support and gun safety. It is important for individuals to seek help if they are struggling with mental health issues or feeling overwhelmed, and for families and communities to be aware of warning signs and intervene when necessary to prevent such tragedies from occurring.
