Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, the ex-fiancée of ex-New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez, was accused of misspending thousands of dollars of the money meant for their daughter Avielle Hernandez, 10. According to Attorney David Schwartz, the trustee of the trust fund established for Avielle, Jenkins-Hernandez has misspent more than $100,000 on personal expenses like online shopping, hair and nail salon appointments, and gym fees. The most notable of these expenses included a $4,800 worth of expenses at Harrods Department store and $3,720 spent in Bay Path University, a private university in Massachusetts.According to Fortier, Schwartz appeals to remove Jenkins-Hernandez as Avielle’s guardian. If this happens, Avielle’s new guardian would receive Aaron Hernandez’s Social Security checks and pension. They would also be responsible for determining how these funds will be spent. Avielle will have access to the money in her trust fund that currently amounts to around $700,000 only as she turns 25. However, Jenkins-Hernandez denied the allegations. Her lawyer, Stephen Withers, also said that the allegations are false.
