Dad Arrested After Killing 1-Year-Old Infant Daughter By Throwing Her Off A Bridge in Long Beach, California

Jayveyon Burley was arrested for throwing his daughter off a bridge in Long Beach, California. The remains of the dead 1-year-old infant Leilani Dream Burley were found in the Los Angeles River, says Lang.

Inglewood Police Department (IPD) immediately worked alongside the officers of the Long Beach Police Department (LPD) and began searching for the missing child. Upon investigation, the police found the remains of the dead 1-year-old infant in the Los Angeles River below the Ocean Boulevard Bridge. Police identified the suspect as the infant’s father, Jayveyon Burley, 22, who was then arrested for child endangerment and murder and placed behind bars at the Inglewood jail, according to Lambe.

“My daughter was murdered by her father,” Lynisha Hull, the infant’s mother, told KABC. “He threw her off the bridge.” Hull gave more information about Leilani’s death and stated that it was usual for Burley to pick up both of their children every Sunday night and return them to her on Wednesdays.

As reported by Hull, on that day, Burley seemed upset when he picked up the children. However, none of his behavior was anything she found concerning other than Burley failing to put the child in her car seat and watching as Burley drove off “erratically”. Hull’s 3-year-old son was not harmed. But the devastated mother stated that the little boy keeps on asking about his sister, a question for which she has no answer.
