A special bonus check worth $1,500 will be received by selected educators from Fort Smith Public School (FSPS) in the state of Arkansas just in time for the Christmas holidays, says Blake. The qualified educators will be given a bonus for all the hard work they have done for the academic institution during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The academy views this bonus as a small token of appreciation for the educators who went out of their way to teach even during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The most difficult task yet was how teachers adapted to remote teaching and looked for new ways to make their students participate in a virtual class, according to an article published in MARCA.

Who is eligible for this bonus check?

This one-time bonus check applies to all the veteran teachers from Fort Smith Public School. These include classroom teachers, interventionists, instructional specialists, special education coordinators, and adult education teachers. School administrators like principals or assistant principals are also eligible. However, those administrators at the district level such as department directors are not eligible for this bonus.

This bonus was approved by the school board around early May and is expected to be received by the teachers and other eligible staff by December 15. Following this bonus, teachers can also expect an increase in their yearly salary, with the senior teachers receiving a smaller increase than the new ones, as reported by Pelayre.
