Nearly a month after the winning $800 Million Mega Millions Texas Lottery ticket was sold at a Murphy Express gas station in Sugar Land, the winner has come forward to claim their prize.

The Texas Lottery announced this week that The Sol Living Trust claimed the estimated annuitized $800 million jackpot. The winning numbers were 1, 2, 16, 24, 66 and a gold Mega ball 6. When the winner purchased the ticket, they opted to take the lump sum prize of $409,297,624 before taxes. The store which sold the ticket also received a $1 million retailer bonus.

According to the Texas Lottery, this is the largest prize ever paid out to a single Texas Lottery player and the seventh-largest Texas Mega Million jackpot in history.

“We absolutely love when Texas Lottery players win big, and it’s a tremendous honor to congratulate our state’s largest-ever jackpot winner,” executive director of the Texas Lottery Ryan Mindell said in a statement.

The last jackpot winner was in October 2023 when The Blue Yucca Trust won an estimated annuitized $360 million from a ticket in San Angelo. Texas first joined the multijurisdictional game in 2003 and there have been 15 Mega Millions winners to date.

Since the Texas Lottery began in 1992, it has generated more than $49 billion in revenue for the state and awarded over $88 billion in prizes.
