Authorities are asking for the public’s help regarding the shooting death of a 19-year-old Missouri City resident this past Friday.
On Sunday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) identified Cody Johnson, 19, as the victim of a suspected road rage shooting that occurred last Friday night.
According to the HCSO, deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 23600 block of Katy Freeway at around 8 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, deputies said they found an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported via Life Flight and was later pronounced dead after arriving at a local hospital.
On Sunday evening, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez released further information regarding the incident via social media. He said Johnson had been driving a 2011 Black Camaro with gold rims at the time of the shooting. He also said the shooting was possibly caused as a result of a road rage incident.

Johnson had graduated from Ridge Point High School earlier this year and was a former member of the school’s Baseball Team. Family members told ABC13 Sunday that Johnson had been driving to visit his girlfriend in Katy at the time of the shooting.
