To further support its educators, the Oldham County Board of Education has announced additional financial aid for full-time teachers. During their meeting on Wednesday night and the board approved a one-time payment of $2,000 for full-time teachers and $1,000 for part-time employees. These payments will be distributed later this year and are intended to supplement the significant pay raises awarded earlier this year.

In April, the board had already approved a 7% pay increase for salaried employees and a $2 per hour raise for hourly workers which began in July. The new stipends underscore the board’s continued commitment to enhancing the financial situation of its staff providing extra support to acknowledge their efforts and dedication.

Oldham County Schools Prioritizes Teacher Support with Record Raises and Stipends

According to the report of WDRB, Board Chair Suzanne Hundley expressed enthusiasm about the new payments noting the board’s commitment to increasing pay and improving working conditions. “Along with the record 7% raises approved in the spring, the Board is excited to offer these stipends to our dedicated teachers and staff,” Hundley stated in a news release. She assured that the board would continue to explore ways to further raise salaries and improve work conditions for Oldham County Schools employees.

These new stipends highlight Oldham County’s dedication to valuing and supporting its teachers. By combining the one-time payments with earlier raises, the district aims to foster a more fulfilling work environment and ensure that educators feel valued. The board’s actions reflect a broader effort to attract and retain talented staff benefiting the entire school community.
