$15 Million Settlement: Cash App Users Can Claim Up to $2,500 in Compensation for Hacked Account Losses

Cash App users who had their accounts hacked between August 2018 and August 2024 may be eligible to receive up to $2,500 in compensation from a $15 million class action lawsuit settlement and must file their claim by November 18, 2024.

According to the report of SE Asia, if you use Cash App, you might be able to get money from a recent class action lawsuit. Cash App’s parent company, Block Inc. has agreed to pay $15 million because they allegedly didn’t protect users well enough during security breaches in 2022 and 2023. Even though Block Inc. says they did nothing wrong and you could claim up to $2,500 by submitting your claim online.

The lawsuit points out that Cash App had big security problems including a former worker who accessed private data and recycled phone numbers used to hack accounts. These breaches put users’ personal and financial information at risk showing that Cash App didn’t do enough to keep accounts safe. This led to more fraudulent transactions and the need for legal action.

File Your Claim by November 18, 2024 to Receive Compensation for Hacked Account Losses

To get compensation, you need to have been a Cash App user whose account was hacked between August 23, 2018, and August 20, 2024. Make sure to file your claim by November 18, 2024, on the settlement website. Depending on your situation and you might get money for losses and time spent dealing with the issues or fraudulent charges. You may also need to provide extra documents like receipts or police reports if fraud happened.
