Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that over 1 million families across New York State will soon benefit from a substantial financial boost. On Monday morning and the first round of checks began to be distributed to low- and moderate-income families with children. Eligible families who have previously received an Empire State Child Credit of at least $100 following their 2023 tax filings could receive up to $330 per child. This one-time supplemental payment aims to provide additional support amid rising living costs.
The supplemental payments which range from 25% to 100% of the previously received Empire State Child Credit will be automatically sent to families without any further action required on their part. Governor Hochul emphasized that over 100,000 checks are being mailed daily to ensure that the aid reaches families as quickly as possible. This systematic approach is designed to minimize delays and ensure a smooth distribution process, according to the report of Pix 11.
