New York State Delivers Major Win for Families with Child Care Assistance Payments and Digital Portal

The money for this payment was a major win for Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins who fought for it in the state budget. Stewart-Cousins said this support is especially needed now with high living costs and will greatly help families in Westchester and beyond. Besides the payments, she also highlighted the new New York State Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Digital Portal which makes it easier for families to get help with child care, according to the report of Yonkers Time.

The CCAP Digital Portal is a big step forward in making child care more affordable. With a $1.8 billion boost in funding, the portal helps families quickly find out if they qualify for assistance and apply for it. The program covers up to 90 percent of child care costs for eligible families so many will only pay a small amount each week. This new effort shows the state’s commitment to improving child care for working families.
